Fashion design and style seriously reflect so much about our culture. The runway shows have taken on the veneer of Broadway like productions and capture enormous media attention at the height of the season. This class will show you the step-by-step mechanics of drawing the models, beginning with free-form linear sketches using couture fashion photos and ending with finished illustrations. You will learn how to draw the fashion figure, adding fabrics such as velvet and chiffon. You will see how fashion drawings, fabrics, patterns, and design can be transformed into works of art. Designers such as Dioe, Chanel, Lagerfeld, Valentino, De La Renta, and Vera Wang will be used. A materials list will be sent a week before the first class.
