EDD 2285 — Environmental Systems
An introduction to the fundamental concepts of heat transfer and the application of heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and domestic hot water systems to residential and light commercial buildings. A building will be modeled for heat transfer, and cost-benefit analyses will be conducted to determine optimum performance for a specific climate. The concepts of passive solar gain, indoor air quality, and renewable technologies including solar photovoltaic, solar water heating, and ground-source heat pumping will also be developed.
