EDUC 106 — Introduction to Special Education

This course introduces special education from theoretical, practical, and legal perspectives. Information regarding characteristics of individuals with exceptionalities and evidence- based instructional strategies are examined. Students begin to learn about the different exceptionalities and explore the legal policies in meeting students’ educational needs in grades one through six. Pre/ 127 Mathematics for Elementary Teachers I or higher; or waiver by placement testing results.
