This course provides a basic introduction to statistics. It is recommended for students in business, social science, human resources, allied health, and criminal justice and provides an excellent preparation for any career. Topics include descriptive statistics, probability, probability distributions, the normal distribution, hypothesis testing, estimates and sample sizes, the chi square distribution, correlation, and regression. Pathway. 3 Credits; Attributes: LA This course covers the algebra necessary for successful completion of the Pre-calculus/Calculus sequence while introducing functions, graphing, and graphing utilities. Topics include the operation and use of graphing utilities, polynomial operations and functions, absolute value equations and functions, radical and rational exponent functions, piecewise functions, composite functions, and complex numbers. Math III or MATH 012 Intermediate Algebra; waiver by placement testing results; or department approval.
