This course is designed to present the principles of comprehensive nursing care related to major mental and physical health problems across the life span. Students are expected to integrate previously learned knowledge and skills. The nursing process is further implemented as the student intervenes therapeutically. The course content includes nursing theory, pathophysiology, pharmacology, nutrition, and the social sciences. Emphasis on critical thinking, evidence-based practice, and teaching/learning continues. Clinical experiences are planned in medical surgical, psychiatric, and/or pediatric settings. This course has a lecture, lab, simulation, and clinical component. A minimum passing grade of C+ is required.
