This course explores management principles and organizational structures of private security organizations and the larger entities that they protect. The basic tenets of planning, organizing, staffing, directing, coordinating, motivating, communicating, and budgeting are explored within the unique context of the security function. Emphasis is placed on the importance of interfacing with the criminal justice system. Contemporary personnel issues and the impact of liability and risk management are addressed. Sociology
