CH120 — PRINCIPLES OF CHEMISTRY II w/ LAB
Principles of Chemistry II is the second semester of a two-semester college course on the facts and principles of chemistry at the general chemistry level. The course has a mandatory lab that complements the lecture. This course is designed to meet the needs of STEM major programs. Typical majors taking this course include biotechnology, life science, computer science, environmental science, and engineering. Topics include re-emphasis of lab safety; intermolecular forces of attraction; kinetic-molecular theory, structure and properties of solids, liquids and gases; solutions and colloidal suspensions; colligative properties; thermodynamics; chemical kinetics; chemical equilibrium and its applications; acid-base chemistry; buffers; redox and electrochemistry; descriptive chemistry. Lecture: 3 hours per week Lab: 3 hours per week. 4 Credits
