NU135 — INTRODUCTION TO PSYCHOSOCIAL CONCEPTS AND PHARMACOLOGY IN NURSING
This course introduces psychosocial concepts in nursing care across the lifespan. Key concepts are reinforced through an understanding of select exemplars and a focus on essential aspects of health wellness continuum in mental health across the lifespan. Competency in addressing psychosocial needs in a variety of settings through the application of the nursing process is stressed. Course content also emphasizes principles of pharmacology and nursing care related to common classifications/prototypes of agents used in the management of patients with actual or potential mental health problems and the implications for nursing care. 4 Credits
