PS223 — PSYCHOLOGY OF CRIMINAL BEHAVIOR

This course examines crime, the criminal justice system (both juvenile and adult) and the roots of criminal behavior from childhood through adulthood. The course will focus on the various causation theories including biological, sociological, and psychological schools of thought, through a study of various offenders and offender types. In addition, we will evaluate prevention, treatment, and incarceration models, and the likelihood that offenders will re-offend. Lecture: 3 hours per week. 3 Credits (Registration for PS 101 requires placement into EN 101 ).
