This course presents an overview of the basic laws, theories and principles including basic atomic structure, electrostatics, electrodynamics, and electromagnetism, radioactivity, and the electromagnetic spectrum. Classroom lectures, discussions, and assignments assist students in relating facts, theories, and laws to operating principles associated with the components of x-ray generating equipment, nature of the x-ray beam produced and the types of interactions of x-radiation with matter that are associated with medical imaging applications. Lecture: 4 hours per week. 4 Credits Prerequisite: MA 102
