AHP 116 - Nursing Assistant II AHP 116 - Nursing Assistant II 3 Course Description: This course presents basic principles and procedures of patient care. Concepts of basic human needs, basic nursing and personal care skills, mental health and social needs, and restorative services will be addressed. Information about residents’ and clients’ rights, pertinent laws and ethical issues will also be introduced. Students will be taught the proper way to move patients and the basics of personal care, feeding, bathing and other skills necessary to provide quality health care to patients in hospitals, residents in long term care facilities, and clients in their homes. It includes practice and demonstration of skills in the laboratory and participation in clinical experiences. Note(s): N/A Course Student Learning
