ART 102 - History of Visual Design ART 102 - History of Visual Design 3 Course Description: This course will examine the major movements, styles, and practitioners of visual design, from the early hand-drawn lettering and printing presses to the digital age. We will explore how visual design has been shaped by and has shaped cultural, political, and technological changes over time. By the end of the course, students will gain an understanding of the major developments in visual design history and how these have contributed to contemporary design practices. Students will also develop critical thinking and analytical skills as they analyze and evaluate the various styles and movements covered in the course.
