ART 106 - Art History After 1500 ART 106 - Art History After 1500 3 Course Description: Art History After 1500 is a survey course that explores the development of art and visual culture from the Renaissance to the present day. Through a chronological and thematic approach, students will examine the major styles, movements, and artists of this period, and the political, social, and cultural contexts in which they emerged. Students will analyze works of art from different media and regions, including painting, sculpture, architecture, and new media, and develop a critical perspective on the role of art in society.
