ART 109 - Cambodian Art & Culture ART 109 - Cambodian Art & Culture 3 Course Description: This course examines the emergence of Cambodian culture from ancient times (9th century to the present day Cambodian-American). Specifically, students will learn an overview of architecture, dance & music, literature, craft, and performing arts in a practical and visual context. The course also requires students to examine and practice the process of Cambodian art production in the context of contemporary Cambodians. We will also visit the cultural and artistic organizations and events, such as the Angkor dance troupe, Yary Livan, Cambodian town, and local craftsmen within the changing political and historical context of Lowell during the here and now.
