DHY 200 - Concepts in Dental Hygiene III DHY 200 - Concepts in Dental Hygiene III 3 Course Description: This course introduces the concepts of health education, and the dental hygienist’s role in providing dental health education to the public. The primary focus of the course includes the concepts of the learning process through which students will design and implement dental health education presentations and on the role of the hygienist in the promotion of health and well-being and in the prevention of disease. Emphasis is placed on relating classroom discussions to preventative counseling and developing practical skills for working in the community.
