HST 139 - Christian and Islamic Cultures in Peace and Conflict HST 139 - Christian and Islamic Cultures in Peace and Conflict 3 Course Description: This course will explore themes from life in Medieval Spain that are still reflected in today’s global headlines. A period from the 5th century to 1492, this was a time and place when religiously rooted cultures were in conflict on the battlefield, in the political arena, and in the arts. Major attention will be given to the singular moment of interaction between Muslims, Christians and Jews, which - for a time - developed a culture of tolerance among the three faiths. ISLOs: This course supports student development of Written and Oral Communications, Critical Thinking, and Multicultural and Global Perspectives. Note(s): This course satisfies a Social Science Elective. This course has been approved to meet the Core Curriculum General Education requirement. Course Student Learning
