Students explore the basic concepts and facilitative skills of ing relationships while building effective observation, assessment, treatment planning, and one-on-one interview skills. Students are introduced to counseling theories and their related processes and techniques including behavioral, person-centered, and relationship building. Through a combination of readings, lectures, and structured learning experiences and exercises, students explore the nature and range of human characteristics and individual potential interventions.
