LAN 111 - French 1 and Culture LAN 111 - French 1 and Culture 3 Course Description: French 1 and Culture is an introductory course for beginners. Students will learn French language by developing all four communication skills: reading, writing, listening and speaking. They will also learn the alphabet and how to read and write simple sentences in French. They will respond to greetings and simple commands and gain an understanding and respect for a different culture. ISLOs: This course supports student development of Critical Thinking, Multicultural/Global Literacy, and personal and professional development. General Education Elective(s): Humanities Note(s): For students with no or very little French. This course has been approved to meet the Core Curriculum General Education Requirement.
