LAN 171 - Khmer I and Culture LAN 171 - Khmer I and Culture 3 Course Description: Khmer 1 and Culture is an introductory course for beginners. Students will learn Khmer language by developing all four communication skills: reading, writing, listening and speaking. They will also learn the alpha-syllabary script, abugida, and how to read and write simple sentences in Khmer. They will respond to greetings and simple commands and gain an understanding and respect for a different culture. ISLOs: This course supports student development of Critical Thinking, Multicultural and Global Perspectives, and Personal and Professional Development. General Education Elective(s): Humanities Note(s): This course has been approved to meet the Core curriculum General Education Requirement. Course Student Learning
