LAN 233 - Japanese 4 and Culture LAN 233 - Japanese 4 and Culture 3 Course Description: Japanese 4 and Culture is a fourth semester world language course. Students will continue to learn Japanese language by developing all four communication skills: reading, writing, listening and speaking. They will also learn to expand their reading skills to be able to derive probable meaning of simple unknown words from short familiar contexts and scan a simple text, using headings and graphics. They will learn to write in Japanese a description of a future event or activity and a story with simple linear sequence. They will gain a deeper understanding and respect for a different culture.
