MAS 109 - Medical Care in Health and Disease MAS 109 - Medical Care in Health and Disease 3 Formerly MAS 120 Course Description: Provides a knowledge base about the history and development of medicine and the medical assistant profession and its role in health care today. Students examine the influence of culture and patients’ ideas about health and disease and health care practices in different societies and among different cultural groups. Students will be introduced to the study of human disease with an emphasis on signs and symptoms, etiology and treatment of the more common diseases and clinical disorders.
