NUR 104 - PN Fundamentals of Nursing NUR 104 - PN Fundamentals of Nursing 5 Course Description: In the Fundamentals of Nursing course, the student is introduced to the basic knowledge, attitudes, and skills of the practical nurse. The Nurse of the Future Nursing Core Competencies © provide the framework for this course, where the focus is on patient-centered care, safety, evidence-based practice, professionalism, teamwork, and communication. Clinical application of the Fundamentals of Nursing theory course includes a laboratory and a direct care component. Note(s): This course is limited to Practical Nursing Students only. This course needs to be taken concurrently with NUR 105 PN Fundamentals of Nursing Practicum and NUR 161 Pharmacology and Medication Calculations.
