NUR 110 - Nursing Care of the Family NUR 110 - Nursing Care of the Family 4 Course Description: In this course the student continues to develop the core competencies of patient-centered care, safety, evidence-based practice, professionalism, teamwork, and communication as outlined in the NOFNCC LPN. The role of the practical nurse in providing care to the new mother, baby and pediatric client will build up the knowledge skills and behaviors established in the fundamentals course. Content will be presented addressing the diverse needs of the new family and pediatric clients that is appropriate and respectful of the client’s development stage and in accordance with the role and responsibility of the practical nurse. This course needs to be taken concurrently with NUR 111 Nursing Care of the Family Practicum. Students must achieve a grade of C or better in each course. Course Student Learning
