NUR 203 - Preparing for Professional Practice NUR 203 - Preparing for Professional Practice 1 Course Description: In this course the student will identify leadership skills essential for the Licensed Practical Nurse. Content will more fully explore the rules and regulations that address nursing practice according to Massachusetts General Laws and Code of Regulations commonly referred to as the nurse practice act, including supervision delegation and making an assignment. The course will explore the practical nurse role and responsibilities as a leader and team member that impacts patients across the life in a way that supports patient preferences values and diversity to provide optimal safe care. Concurrent enrollment in or completion of PSY 124. This course needs to be taken concurrently with NUR 204 Preparing for Professional Practice Preceptorship, NUR 207 Nursing Care of the Adult and Older Adult, NUR 208 Nursing Care of the Adult and Older Adult Practicum and NUR 162 PN Advanced Pharmacology and medication calculations. Students must achieve a grade of C or better in each course. Course Student Learning
