PAR 199 - Paralegal Internship PAR 199 - Paralegal Internship 3 Course Description: The internship program provides a supervised practicum experience in law. Interns will spend eight hours per week at their assigned internship position, and attend five scheduled class meetings, plus a final exam during exam week. Coursework will review law office procedures, employability skills, ethical issues in the legal workplace, and selected topics in law. Students may be assigned to criminal or civil areas of law. All interns will be supervised by attorneys and will be responsible for performing work traditionally assigned to paralegals, such as researching state and federal, responding to client requests for information, and coordinating responses to public agencies and private law firms. This course is strongly recommended for all students planning to seek paralegal employment upon graduation. Note(s): This is a Legal Specialty course. This course is as an alternative to PAR 198, Law Office Management and only one of these courses may be taken for program credit. Course Student Learning
