SOC 110 - History and Practice of Community Leadership and Organizing SOC 110 - History and Practice of Community Leadership and Organizing 3 Course Description: This course provides an in-depth exploration of the history, theories, and practices of community leadership and organizing. Students will examine significant social movements and explore the real actions and strategies of local non-profit groups in the greater Lowell area. The core project of this course will be to engage a local non-profit group or small business in discussions around strategy, scope, and future initiatives. Each student will be able to gain direct networking access with local directors and leaders in the broad field of community change and empowerment.
