It will explore the rise of digitalization and its impact on society. It will examine the role of big tech companies, the increasing importance of data, and how digital technologies are being used by states as social, economic, and political tools to govern. It will also explore alternative models of digital economies and the possibility of a more just and equitable digital future. ISLOs: This course supports student development of Social Responsibility, Critical Thinking, and Multicultural and Global Perspectives.
