The course makes use of computer spreadsheets to facilitate learning. Topics include: review of arithmetic and basic algebra, dimensional analysis, computer spreadsheets, unit factor label method, significant figures, scientific notation, exponential and logarithmic functions, solution, dilution and pH calculations, graphing including semi-log and log-log graphs, and quality control statistics including linear regression.
