ASLP222 — Deaf History and Culture

(R only) Provides students the opportunity to immerse themselves in Deaf culture, history, and language. This course will present an in-depth consideration of Deaf history and the social, cultural, political, educational, and social aspects of the community as a cohesive American co-culture. Students will examine the norms and values of Deaf culture, as well as the linguistic, educational, social, and professional influences in Deaf culture and history. Recommended to be taken concurrently with ASLP 210 . Three hours each week. 3 semester hours Course

Prerequisites: ASLP121, ASLP200
