EMGT230 — Community Emergency Response Teams

Trains students to be better prepared to respond to emergency situations in their communities. This course provides the students with the skills required by the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) to serve as a Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) member within their community. Topics covered include: disaster preparedness, fire safety, medical operations, search and rescue, organization, communications, operations, personal readiness and equipment and terrorism recognition. Assessment Level(s): ENGL 101 / ENGL 011 , or consent of department. Three hours each week. 3 semester hours Course
