A study of the properties, characteristics, and fundamental equations of substances in the solid, liquid, and vapor states, as well as the basic laws of work and heat transfer. Application of the first and second laws of thermodynamics to the analysis of heat engines, refrigeration systems, gas mixtures, and reactions. Three hours each week. 3 semester hours Course
