HORT131 — Sustainable Landscape Design
(G only) An introduction to a sustainable landscape design. This course will introduce students to a functional and thriving landscape design by strategically using plants, materials, and other features to create a more environmentally friendly and efficient outdoor space. Key principles include the use of native plants and the reduction of water consumption, soil erosion, and chemical inputs. Includes the ecology of the site, creating designs to benefit both people and the surrounding environment. Two hours lecture, two hours laboratory each week. 3 semester hours Course
