PHED204 — Foundations of Elementary School Physical Education
(R only) Emphasizes the concepts, theories, and practical application of both activity-based and movement education-based elementary school physical education programs. Material will include movement concepts, locomotor and nonlocomotor activities, manipulative skills, and skill themes. Additional topics will focus on rhythmic activities, low-organized games, educational gymnastics, and other movement experiences for early childhood and elementary school-aged children. Evaluative techniques, teaching strategies, and organizational plans will also be discussed. Three hours each week. 3 semester hours Course
