By teaching Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) methodologies and protocols, this course prepares paramedic students in the integration of comprehensive knowledge of causes and pathophysiology into the management of shock, respiratory failure, respiratory arrest, cardiac arrest, and peri-arrest states with an emphasis on early intervention to prevent respiratory and/or cardiac arrest if possible.
