DSN 110 — DSN-110. History of Design. 3 Credits
LECT 45 hrs The course explores the evolution of design, past and present, across multiple disciplines which include architecture, interior design, industrial design, fashion design, and product design. Students examine cultural, technological and social influences on aesthetics, materials as well as the function of environments and products. The course traces major movements, notable designers, and innovative trends that define the history of design in both practical and artistic processes. Emphasis is placed on understanding design within its historical context and recognizing interconnections between different disciplines and global perspectives.
