EDUC 261 — The Exceptional Child

This is an introductory course of children who differ from the average child in mental, physical, and emotional characteristics. The purpose of this class is to provide educators with an overview of children with exceptional needs, focusing on historical, legal, and multicultural issues, high incidence disabilities and giftedness including characteristics and adaptations of educational procedures.

Prerequisites: EDUC 225, ENL102
