ELT 121 — Alternating Current Circuit Analysis & Applications

5 credits · 5 hours

This course is an introduction to alternating current circuits. It covers sinusoidal waveforms, phase relationships, reactance, impedance, fundamental methods of analyzing simple ac circuits, capacitance, inductance, basic resonant circuits, RC/LC time constants, and passive filters. Electrical nomenclature, component identification and marking, and passive component characteristics are discussed. Laboratory exercises will be used to verify circuit theory and provide experience in using basic electronic test equipment.
