ELT 170 — Fiber Optics Communications
This course prepares students for the ETA Fiber Installer Certification. Topics include light propagation, types of optical fibers, the building blocks for a fiber system, light sources, photodetectors, connectors, SONET, OTN, ethernet over passive optical networks, various FTTx methods, systems design, cost and loss budgets, OTDRsl, and safety.
