MAS 245 — Muscle Palp II for Massage Therapy

Muscle Palpation II is a course that offers an in-depth look at the human muscular system. This course deals with the characteristics of muscle tissue, connective tissue, components of skeletal muscle, the nerve and blood supply, contraction and relaxation of skeletal muscle fibers and muscle metabolism. During this course, students will learn to superficially outline the shape and fiber direction of the various muscles and muscle groups studied. The muscles covered in this course will focus on the upper extremity. Additionally, the student will learn to physically locate, palpate, and demonstrate the actions of the major muscle groups, related bones and boney landmarks.
