SURG 110 — Introduction to Surgical Technology
This course introduces students to the foundational principles of surgical technology, emphasizing the role of the surgical technologist withing the perioperative team. Topics include patient care and safety, legal and ethical considerations, risk management, and professional responsibilities. Students will examine the surgical patient, the physical environment of the operating room, and essential safety standards necessary for maintaining a sterile and controlled surgical setting.
