BM 1403 — BUSINESS MATHEMATICS

Prerequisite: NONE This course is designed to develop knowledge and skill in the computation of practical financial problems of a business and personal nature. A thorough review of the fundamental processes of mathematics will begin the course and topics that follow will include percentages, trade, cash and bank discounts, simple and compound interest, credit sales and billing, mark up and mark down, payroll, social security and other taxes, installment buying and periodic payments, negotiable instruments, depreciation and inventory valuation methods. This course does not meet math requirements for general education. Credit: Three semester hours
