PSY 2213 — WELLNESS, EXERCISE, AND SPORT PSYCHOLOGY
Prerequisite: PSY 1113 This course is an introduction and overview of the growing and ever - changing field of Sports Psychology, applying psychological principles to athletic performance. Topics include but are not limited to theoretical foundations of behavior in relation to performance, motivati on, concentration, mental toughness, attention, decision- making, team dynamics and leadership, mental health risks for athletes, and athletic injury. The application of psychological skills to performance and wellness is an essential element. Credit: Three semester hours.
