MAST 209 - Medical Assisting Seminar MAST 209 - Medical Assisting Seminar 3 Credit Hours This capstone course aids the Medical Assistant student in the transition from student to healthcare professional. The content will focus on the concepts and principles associated with professionalism, including legal and ethical issues according to the AMA Code of Ethics, HIPAA, professionalism in healthcare, including scope of practice, leadership, and certification. Topics included are test-taking skills, and certification exam review, with emphasis on various content areas included in the certification exam. Students will be given several practice certification examinations. Students will also prepare a professional resume as well as participate in the practical application of the interview and applications process. Students will participate in two community-based service activities.
