MDST 121L - Principles of Phlebotomy Lab MDST 121L - Principles of Phlebotomy Lab 1 Credit Hours Students will get hands on practice using models and live subjects to become competent in venipuncture, capillary puncture, and general laboratory collections using multiple techniques. Students will also learn to properly use phlebotomy equipment, basic laboratory procedures, how interact with patients, safety protocols, biohazard safety, and standard precaution procedures. Students who successfully complete 30 venipuncture, 10 capillary sticks, and successfully complete both MDST120 and 121L are eligible to sit for NHA Certified Phlebotomy Technician exam.
