PMED 100 - Emergency Medical Technician - Basic (EMT-B) PMED 100 - Emergency Medical Technician - Basic (EMT-B) 5 Credit Hours This course involves pre-hospital basic life support concepts, skills and clinical experience for entry level Emergency Medical Technician - Basic adhering to national standards. Meets eligibility requirements to take the National Registry of EMT’s certifying examination. This is a demanding and challenging course. Students will require self-discipline to be able to schedule clinical times and review, comprehend and retain large amounts of information in a short period. In addition, students must successfully complete at least twenty-four hours of field internship and have at least ten patient contacts with an approved EMS agency.
