ASL - 161 American Sign Language II ASL - 161 American Sign Language II (3 s.h.) This course continues the study and practice of basic skills initiated in ASL - 131 American Sign Language I . The course is focused on vocabulary building, finger spelling, facial expressions, body language, use of personal space, and the development of sensitivity and awareness of the Deaf Community in the U.S. Students will learn to sign at a conversation level both expressively and receptively.
