LIT-170 — Poetry/Drama

LIT - 170 Poetry/Drama LIT - 170 Poetry/Drama (3 s.h.) This course offers an introduction to poetic and dramatic forms with the aim of providing students with the tools of critical reading, analyzing, and evaluating poetry and drama. Students will learn to speak and write about poetry and drama critically and analytically, demonstrating an ability to develop a thesis for a literary essay, support it with textual evidenced gained from close readings, and critically analyze and interpret a poem and play. By the end of the course, students will gain a broad knowledge of and an appreciation for poetry and drama, including their cultural and intellectual significance.
