MAT - 089 Survey of Mathematics MAT - 089 Survey of Mathematics (3 s.h.) This course is for students who are intending on taking Math for Liberal Arts. The course focuses on arithmetic skills without a calculator, college study skills, and an overview of topics from Math for Liberal Arts that include: problems solving, sets, elementary logic, number theory, percentages, statistics, and geometry. Credit earned will not satisfy the requirements for an Associate Degree and will not be used in calculating cumulative grade point average for graduation. Course is taught in competency-based instruction format.
