MUS - 120 Music Theory I MUS - 120 Music Theory I (3 s.h.) Music Theory I examines all the basic materials of music which include notation, scales, intervals, chords, melody, harmony, rhythm and texture. Other areas of analysis take in cadence types, chord inversions, figured bass harmonization and principles of part writing based on 18th century models. Students will meet three days a week for one hour.
