BIO203 — Biotechnology I

4 Cr. Per Week: 3 Lec. This is the first semester of a 3-semester sequence of courses in which students will become familiar with both the theory and skills used in biotechnology laboratories. Students will learn to perform recombinant DNA techniques by working with genomic and plasmid DNA, and to transfer, select for, identify, characterize, amplify, and purify genes. Experiments with electrophoresis, polymerase chain reaction, and plasmid preps will be included.
